Our history
Corporate Citizenship was formed by the merger of leading CR consultancies The Smart Company and The Corporate Citizenship Company at the end of 2007.
The Smart Company was formed in 2000 by Amanda Jordan and it was quickly established as a leader in the emerging corporate responsibility market, becoming part of the Chime Communications Group in 2001. Amanda was one of the pioneers of CR thinking and in the early 1990s became one of the first FTSE CR Directors at NatWest.
The Corporate Citizenship Company, was founded in 1997 by David Logan and Mike Tuffrey who had both been working in the field of community involvement and corporate responsibility since the 80’s. From the outset the company was distinctive for its focus on measuring results and international client list following David’s experience working with Levi Strauss.
Together as Corporate Citizenship we have created a one stop consultancy that can offer clients around the world unrivalled breadth and depth of experience and our ambition is to create the leading global corporate responsibility company.
Our thinking
Companies are corporate citizens of our global society, and like its private citizens, they have rights and responsibilities. Meet the Team
Corporate Citizenship has an experienced team of over 35 people, drawn from a wide range of backgrounds, based at offices in London and New York. Across the company we have 12 nationalities and 14 different languages. Many of us have worked as part of the in-house team at a wide range of clients including NatWest Bank, Levi Strauss, General Motors and Microsoft.
