Stakeholder engagement

The Corporate Citizenship team are experienced stakeholder engagement professionals. Many of us have pioneered early programmes in-house; all of us have practical, recent strategic experience to help you get more out of stakeholder consultation and dialogue.

We offer a full range of services, from strategic advice and guidance to running engagement round-tables and conducting surveys of attitudes. We can draw from our own Smart Community Panel of key UK opinion formers from voluntary, community and charitable organisations - the only standing panel that offers a statistically robust way of canvassing the views of local communities.

Our stakeholder analysis and engagement practice helps you through:

  • Stakeholder and issue mapping: identify your key stakeholders and the issues that matter to them;
  • Consulting and engaging: understand what internal and external audiences really think, through independently run surveys and dialogues;
  • Developing strategies and action plans: help you respond to changing expectations and achieve your overall business objectives;
  • Devising mechanisms: regularly communicate with stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.

Trends in stakeholder engagement have moved fast in the last few years, with feedback from stakeholder groups challenging some traditional best practice. Merely consulting stakeholders is now not enough. An ongoing dialogue is expected. Inclusive and wide-ranging practices that mirror advanced customer relationship management techniques are growing.

Many companies have existing programmes that may benefit from a review; some are embarking on strategic ongoing engagement for the first time. Our stakeholder mapping process can help you identify gaps in existing practice, as well as opportunities that are not unearthed by traditional techniques.
