Britvic
Britvic is extending its corporate responsibility programme, and starting to examine the ‘footprint’ of brands with our help.
Britvic Soft Drinks is one of the two leading soft drinks businesses in Great Britain and Ireland, with a portfolio of brands like Robinsons, Tango and Pepsi. New product developments include J2O and Fruit Shoot.
Britvic sells more than 1.4 billion litres of soft drinks a year, delivering to over 4,000 customers and approximately 200,000 points of distribution. The company has a long and rich history that extends back to Victorian England and further. The British Vitamin Products Company - from which Britvic takes its abbreviated name - was founded in the mid-nineteenth century in the market town of Chelmsford in Essex.
Following the flotation of the company in 2005, corporate responsibility was identified as a key area for development. The Board and the Executive Committee approved a formal strategy and deliverables across five key areas including marketplace issues. For example, the launch of a Consumer Careline and GDA labelling across all packs helps consumers make more informed choices when they purchase.
Corporate Citizenship is advising one of Britvic’s brand with a full ‘footprint’ assessment of its social, environmental and economic impacts from sourcing of raw materials and packaging to disposal and end use. Our work is enabling the brand to identify impacts that need reducing or improving upon, and those that can be leveraged to inform, and build a stronger relationship with, the brand’s consumers and customers. It will also empower brand owners and marketers to make informed choices about their brand’s development based on ethical considerations.
